The Benny Logos Story:
It all began when singer/guitarist Benny Logos and his best friend, guitarist Sal Vashon left their hometown of London, England to visit the far away South Pacific island of Bora Bora. What was supposed to be a short island get-away turned into a 2-year stay, helping the native islanders rebuild their village after one of the worst hurricanes to hit the region in over 50 years. It was during that horrific storm, while huddled together in an old, weather-beaten school house, that Benny began singing the scripture, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Acts 2:21) while Sal strummed the chords on his acoustic guitar. Before long, they were joined on bass guitar by American missionary Reed Dempchin, while a beautiful Tahitian native named Halle Luia pounded a drum beat on an empty trash can. Suddenly, a new band was born - Benny Logos and the Verses. The four survived the hurricane and have been playing their unique blend of classic scriptures and irresistible rock music ever since.
